It is not easy to talk to God because we sometimes don't know what to say. But I will give you some tips on how to talk to God:
1. Follow the ACTS of prayer
- Adoration: Give God praise and honor for who he is as Lord over all.
- Confession: Honestly deal with the sin in your prayer life.
- Thanksgiving: Verbalize what you're grateful for in your life and in the world around you.
- Supplication: Pray for the needs of others and yourself.
2. Be open-minded, be sweet and be true
Talk to Him as if you were talking to your friends or best friend. Remember the way you talk to your friends? Sharing your thoughts and your feelings. And sometimes you forgot that you are running out of time or maybe you don't mind the time when you talked to them. Or if your talking to your mom telling her your achievements and disappointments in you life. You were true to your words. It is the same thing when talking to God. He is our mighty, our best friend, our listener, our everything...
3. Know your relationship with Him, who is God to you?
Knowing that He is God we tend not to talked to much because He is higher than us, like a boss or manager. Focus... Reflect... Ask yourself who is God to you? Why is He always been there to us?
He is not a boss nor a manager but more than friends. Relate to Him like a brother or friend.
4. Our PRAYER must be faithful
Decide to spend time with Him and what time you are going talked or meet Him. A 15 minutes of prayer is the first tool in spending time with Him and increase it as you go along. :) Promise you will enjoy it.
5. Write in your DIARY JOURNAL
If you are shy enough to talked to God or don't know what to say... And if you are fond of writing than talking.... Well, this is your chance to write it down to your DIARY JOURNAL ^_^ Put everything you would like to say and share to God. Surely, He will read it. (Just like me I always love to write than talk to Him directly. hehehe).
These are tips which you can follow. :) I got this idea because of my loving community in CFC FFL. Thanks to all brothers and sisters. And try this website which will help you in your devotion. http://www.catholic.org/prayers/
Feel free to put comments or suggestions. (I am not good in constructing sentences, hope you don't mind)
